Testing on tires and rims
The materials of the wheel assembly, consisting of the tire and rim, are traditionally rubber and steel; however, vehicle weight reduction requirements have required the introduction of the use of light alloys and composite materials as well, as substitutes for steel. TEC Eurolab has the instrumentation and knowledge to carry out a complete characterization of the materials present in the wheel and also implement test solutions for testing the complete component, allowing to verify its characteristics of resistance to the environment, to impulsive or repeated mechanical stresses, such as pressure variations and abrasion, and to obtain information on the state of tire-rim coupling, for example following side impacts, by means of whole-component tomographic scans.
