UNI EN ISO 3834 Certification - Quality Requirements for Welding

The UNI EN ISO 3834 standard establishes quality requirements for fusion welding of metallic materials.

It constitutes the technical reference for demonstrating the manufacturer’s ability to fabricate welded products in strict accordance with design specifications.
The standard is divided into three levels of certification, applicable according to the criticality of the article:

  • ISO 3834-2: Extended quality requirements.
  • ISO 3834-3: Normal quality requirements
  • ISO 3834-4: Elementary quality requirements.

(Documented and verified compliance at a higher level automatically guarantees compliance at lower levels.)

The ISO 3834 scheme is structured to integrate with the ISO 9001 management system and incorporates mandatory certifications related to professional figures and operational procedures:

  • Qualification of welders (ISO 9606-1 / ISO 14732)
  • Qualification of welding coordinators (ISO 14731)
  • Certification of Non-Destructive Testing Personnel – PND (ISO 9712)
