Sustainability Report 2024

We published the Sustainability Report 2024, according to GRI international standards.

The integration of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) goals is a key step in aligning our strategies with the principles of sustainable development.

Environment

Energy Efficiency

In 2023 we installed photovoltaic systems on the 2 factories on Europa Avenue and Via Grieco, and in 2024 we also inaugurated a small system on the third production site on Via della Resistenza of 35.64 kw. In 2024, the three plants produced 236,411 kwh of energy. Overall, we reduced total electricity consumption by about 50,000 kWh (-6.3%) compared to the previous year.

Water dispensers and thermal flasks

Starting in May 2023, we installed purified water dispensers in our locations and gave all employees a personalized thermal water bottle to all contribute to a reduction in plastic consumption. If we consider that each employee drinks at least the equivalent of 0.5L of water per day, by 2024 we have saved the consumption of 21,600 plastic bottles.

Waste Management

In preparation for the introduction of the RENTRI system, SIDEIUS initiated a specialized check-up to analyze and optimize the entire waste management process. The initiative involved all company locations, with technical field audits and a focus on classification, temporary storage, documentation and traceability.

Supporting local suppliers

To reduce the impacts of transporting purchased goods and to promote local business activities, Sideius purchases from local suppliers whenever possible. In 2024, 13.15 percent of purchases were made from suppliers in Campogalliano, the same municipality as the company’s operations, compared to 11.45 percent in the previous year, while 30.4 percent were from suppliers located within a 100-kilometer radius of the company.

Social

Attention to the well-being of employees

To work well you need to be well. SIDEIUS pays special attention to the working well-being of employees and supports it through a model of flexible working hours, smart working policies, corporate welfare initiatives, performance bonuses, training courses and team building events. For us, investing in people means creating the conditions for everyone to express their potential.

Gender equality

We strive for women and men in SIDEIUS to feel equally at the center of the enterprise. In addition to achieving equal pay, we adopt work-life balance policies and organizational flexibility tools to ensure fair, inclusive and development-oriented working conditions for all.

Educational internships

Each year we are committed to offering internship experiences and PCTO pathways (Pathways for Transversal Skills and Orientation) that foster the integration of students into real-world operational contexts, allowing them to put into practice the knowledge they have acquired during their school and college career. In 2024, we activated 31 internships. As a testament to our ongoing commitment, we have been awarded for the second consecutive year by Confindustria the Stamps for Quality and Enterprise Alternation in ITS.

Support for sports, social and cultural activities

We give support to various amateur, sports, social and cultural associations for young people and others, with the aim of actively contributing to the growth and well-being of our community. Our commitment takes the form of supporting sports organizations, such as the Polisportiva di Campogalliano, the Sport More team and the A1 series of Modena Volleyball, and cultural and social associations, such as The City of the Second Renaissance, the Association for Corporate Social Responsibility, AIL, the Libra Museum and ITS Maker.

Governance

Legality Rating

The legality rating is a biennial award given by the Italian Competition Authority (AGCM). Measured in starlets (from 1 to 3), it aims to promote the introduction of ethical principles in corporate behavior, transparency and social responsibility. In 2024, we received 2 starlets.

Model 231

We adopt Model 231 to ensure ethical practices and responsible management guidelines for all stakeholders. The model contributes to the dissemination of culture and prevention within the company, paying particular attention to concreteness and seeking integration into our Quality system.

Research and development

At SIDEIUS, our commitment to R&D is one of the fundamental pillars of our growth and innovation strategy. Investing in R&D allows us to maintain continuous innovation on the technological front so that we can always provide cutting-edge solutions to our customers. In 2024, we allocated €1,501,273 to R&D activities, investing in projects, expertise, and technology.
