Our History

On June 4, 2025, TEC Eurolab celebrated 35 years of activity, an achievement built over time thanks to the vision and determination of its founding partners, Paolo Moscatti, Alberto Montagnani, Loretta Gozzi, and Anna Grassi, together with the contribution of everyone who has taken part in the company’s development.
This anniversary also carried additional significance, marking the launch of SIDEIUS, the new identity evolved from TEC Eurolab’s journey.
To celebrate the occasion, the event “Raccontare l’impresa. Costruire il futuro” was held on June 10, dedicated to all our stakeholders. It was a special moment in which, with great feelings, we retraced our history, made of people, expertise, and continuous growth.
An entrepreneurial journey that, over the years, has led us to consolidate new business areas beyond the laboratory, while always keeping technical quality and specialization at the core.

“In these thirty-five years of business, in addition to investments in equipment, skills and markets, we have put forth confidence, expertise and courage, sharing, developing and consolidating a business culture that sees the motto fare bene, stare bene, fare il bene as the best expression of our values.” Paolo Moscatti, President of SIDEIUS

“One evening, after work, as we were saying goodbye to each other to go home, I said to Paolo, ‘Come on, let’s do something together.’ Opening a workshop seemed simple enough, but then we would consult with the accountant and he would start to do the math, put us in front of a thousand difficulties…. In spite of that, with a few used machines, a lot of enthusiasm and a lot of will to do, our wonderful adventure began, which we try to tell today”
Alberto Montagnani, vice president SIDEIUS

“I was born in 1988, I belong to the Millenials generation, what is often called the purpose generation. For us, it is not enough to do: it is essential to understand why we do. I found this “why” in the enterprise, in our company: TEC Eurolab. We don’t have our own product: we offer services. And this, for us, is an honor and a responsibility. Because it means contributing every day to the excellence of our customers’ products and processes, in an area that, for those who love mechanics, has no equal in the world. This spirit is clear to anyone who talks to our employees: no one just ‘does their Task,’ because for us it is a mission to contribute to the excellence of our territory.”
Marco Moscatti, CEO of SIDEIUS

More than 30 years of history

1990S

THE FOUNDATION.

On June 4, 1990, Eurolab snc was founded by Alberto Montagnani and Paolo Moscatti. A laboratory for destructive and non-destructive testing of materials, with the goal of guaranteeing the highest levels of quality to the customer through investment in state-of-the-art instrumentation, continuous staff training and achievement of accreditations. The first nondestructive tests are performed using surface methods: visual inspection, liquid penetrant, magnetic particles.

2000s

GROWTH.

In 2002, the Viale Europa office was opened. From the initial 330 square meters on Via della Resistenza, space increases to 1,100 square meters, with a subsequent expansion to 2,100 square meters in 2006. In 2005 the company name becomes TEC Eurolab Ltd. and the trademark is registered at the European level. The recognition of Alenia Aeronautica is obtained and the first tests on fasteners for aeronautical use begin. Accreditation as a Certification Body is obtained. More space is given to nondestructive testing, integrating radiography and ultrasound.

2008-2012

THE GLOBAL FINANCIAL CRISIS AND RECOVERY

With the global economic and financial crisis of 2008, 2009 sales dropped 32 percent from the previous year. Thanks to prudent management, the budget still breaks even. In 2010, NADCAP accreditation is obtained. 2011 is a year of definite recovery, the company returns to growth in terms of structure, skills, accreditations, turnover and margin.

2013-2016

THE BIRTH OF THE TOMOGRAPHIC CENTER

Development strategy changes. Technical manager and administration and control manager join the board of directors. The tomography center, among the first in Italy, is inaugurated, with the 240kv X5000 tomograph becoming operational. In 2015, the property in Via Grieco is purchased, where the new tomography department moves in the following year, with the installation of the new 450-kV tomograph, the most powerful available in Italy at that time.

2017-2019

NEW SPACE FOR NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTING CENTER

With the relocation of the nondestructive testing, tomography, dimensional, inspection, certification body and training departments to Grieco Street, the space on Europa Avenue is redefined, expanding the chemical, metallurgical, mechanical testing and workshop departments. New investments are made in
mechanical testing, chemical and climatic chambers. Investments are made in Cyber Security. In 2019, a LINAC tomograph with power of 6 MeV, designed jointly with the manufacturer, is purchased. TEC Eurolab is the first private laboratory in Europe to have such technology. Investment is made in the digitization of processes, adopting the new Sage X3 management software

2020-2021

THE RESPONSE TO THE PANDEMIC

In February 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic spreads. Business operations are severely affected resulting in a slump in sales. During the same period, following the occurrence of two major aircraft accidents, a major aircraft manufacturer sees its sales frozen resulting in a freeze on plans to develop a new powertrain. The consequences were also not slow to be felt at TEC Eurolab where nondestructive testing and materials analysis of some engine components were being carried out. As a result of these concomitant events, turnover will mark a 30 percent drop at the end of the year. The company initiated an immediate, judicious, but drastic policy of cutting current spending. It has not, however, given up investing in technology, skills and security. In fact, work is also beginning on the redevelopment of the laboratory in Via della Resistenza, the first historical location in Campogalliano, destined to house the Functional Testing Center in 2021. For greater protection of proper business management, the 231 Organizational Model is adopted. During 2021, despite the fact that the economic environment is still affected by the pandemic effects, there is a significant recovery, A record number of customers served is recorded. Turnover, net of the contribution of the largest aviation customer, which has not yet resolved the problems resulting from the shutdown of operations, grows by 24 percent compared to 2020 and by 9 percent compared to 2019, the last year before the nefarious pandemic outbreak.

2022-2023

NEW INVESTMENTS

The outbreak of the war in Ukraine and inflation do not leave the economic environment calm; nonetheless, TEC Eurolab invests in the field of Artificial Intelligence applications, acquiring 30 percent of BlueTensor, a company from Trentino with which it collaborates to implement AI solutions to support conformity assessment processes for materials and components. The company suffers from the sharp increase in energy and consumables costs, but thanks to a consolidation of business processes and careful management control it still closes positively and with a slight increase in turnover.

2024

THE YEAR OF RECORDS AND NEW IDENTITIES

Despite economic instability, TEC Eurolab achieved a record turnover of €12.5 million (+27%).
From a development perspective, the Academy division was spun off into Skillantis, a controlled Benefit Corporation dedicated to advanced training for industry. The company also acquired a majority stake (70%) in BlueTensor, strengthening its position in AI applied to quality control.
At the same time, investments continued in process efficiency improvements and energy cost reduction.

2025

A NEW IDENTITY

2025 marked a key milestone in the company’s evolution, with a further increase in economic performance and a record turnover of €14 million, surpassing the already strong results of the previous year.
At the same time as celebrating its 35th anniversary, through initiatives dedicated to all stakeholders, a rebranding process was launched to rationalize the diversification of competencies. As of December 1, 2025, SIDEIUS S.r.l. became the new corporate name, officially replacing TEC Eurolab S.r.l. While the ownership structure remained unchanged, this transition defined a more rigorous organization by assigning a distinct identity to each brand.
Within this new structure, the company’s different business units have been consolidated: TEC Eurolab for laboratory activities, Valor for certification, Skillantis for technical training, and BlueTensor for process control automation. In this configuration, Skillantis retains its legal autonomy as a Benefit Corporation, while fully aligning with the SIDEIUS brand strategy.
Further reinforcing this direction, in 2025 approval was granted for the construction of a new operational headquarters on the land adjacent to the current Via Grieco site, which will host the activities currently located in Viale Europa.
This evolution of assets reflects the maturity of an organization capable of combining a unified industrial vision with the vertical specialization of its operating units.
