Selction Analysis PMI
Selction Analysis PMI
The survey
was requested
by our
customers
after a
non-conformity
found
by an
external
inspector
, who
found
different
types of
steel used
in
construction of the plant
, quality
lower than required
(AISI 304
instead of
AISI
316)
.
To solve
this
problem has been
used
a
PMI
portable
(
x
-ray
fluorescence
and
spectrometer
)
able to define
the chemical composition
of
the material in question
,
in a non-destructive manner
.
The analysis allowed
to search for
the alloying elements
characteristic of the two
steels
(
Cr, Mn
, Ni, Mo
) and therefore of
differentiate them
rapidly with
small
costs.
