Non-destructive testing can be applied when it is necessary to test a component without interfering with its integrity in the least. These tests, which can be used in testing the final product or in pre-production, avoid further work to pieces or materials that are defective. They can also be used on assembly lines, for example, downstream a process that presents material integrity risks. Non-destructive testing can be applied, with various technologies, to metal, non-metal and composite materials.
