Metallographic Replica on site tests
Metallographic Replica on site tests
Search for
structural damage
caused
by
creep.
To
investigate the
phenomena
caused by
creep
,
rectangular plot have been obtained by using portable equipment
(
polishing
disks
)
in order
to obtain
the
highly polished surfaces
.
These
plots
were
then attached
with appropriate
reagents and
replicated
with
sensitive films
(
replicas of
cellulose)
in order to obtain
an actual copy
of the
material's
metallurgical structure
.
The
replicated
films
were observed
and evaluated
with
an optical microscope
at
200X
100Xe
.
To get
more magnification
it was possible to
metallising replica and then observe them
with a
scanning electron microscope
.
