PLASMA EMISSION SPECTROMETER (ICP)
The plasma emission spectrometry is a "destructive" technique useful to determine quantitatively the majority of the chemical elements of the periodic table even in very low concentrations (ppm)
It is possible to analyze any type of metal alloy (steel, cast iron, aluminum alloys, titanium, nickel,cobalt, zinc, magnesium, tin, lead, tungsten, etc.).
It takes just a few grams of sample (1-2 grams) to obtain the chemical composition of the material.
The sample can be in massive form, burrs or dust.
It is possible to analyze the wear metals in lubricating oils according to ASTM D5185.
It takes just 10 ml of used oil (it is always good to analyse also the new oil for comparison).
METALS FOR MIGRATION
It is possible to analyze the metals released in a liquid simulant for the suitability of materials in contact with food (DM21/03/73), drinking water (DM76/04/2007), skin (the release of nickel from objects in prolonged contact with skin, according to UNI EN 1811) and heavy metals released from toys (EN 71-3:2002).
ANALYSIS OF AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS
It is possible to analyze trace of metals present in any aqueous solution (tap water, cooling water, plating baths, etc.).
To perform this test, 10 ml of solution are sufficient.
