The Engineer is the linchpin on which engineering department, quality control, supplier management, manufacturing, and purchasing rest their needs. <\/p><p>He is the one who collects, processes and optimizes all the information necessary for the realization of components according to criteria established between the parties. Specifically, his competencies are: <\/p><ul><li>Managing raw materials safely<\/li><li>Basic theory of laser additive technology<\/li><li>Basic theory of other additive technologies<\/li><li>Print management (job loading, part extraction)<\/li><li>Print file management (orientation and part placement)<\/li><li>Management of the entire additive manufacturing process (base plate removal, media removal, heat treatment)<\/li><li>Effects of essential variables on the process<\/li><li>Routine machine maintenance and cleaning<\/li><li>Main quality characteristics of the technology<\/li><li>Main methods of nondestructive testing (volumetric, surface, residual stresses) of parts.<\/li><li>Main methods of destructive testing (tensile, resilience, hardness, metallographic, residual stress) of parts.<\/li><li>Drafting operating instructions for the operator.<\/li><li>Definition of the raw material to be used (alloy design)<\/li><li>Knowledge of advanced mechanical properties<\/li><li>Analysis and interpretation of laboratory data<\/li><li>Creation of evaluation procedures on component acceptability criteria<\/li><li>Definition of component design criteria<\/li><li>Evaluation of subsequent surface\/thermal treatments<\/li><li>Quality flow management of the entire additive manufacturing process<\/li><\/ul><h3> <\/h3><h3>Certification exam admission requirements<\/h3><ul><li><strong>Qualification<\/strong>: Bachelor&#8217;s or Master&#8217;s degree in science, preferably in engineering field<\/li><li><strong>Training<\/strong>: 80h training course (see &#8220;Training Program&#8221;) or possession of 10 CFPs (*)<\/li><li><strong>Work experience in the field: 12 months(*)<\/strong> 1 CFP = 8h of training or participation in a technical event or teaching activity, or publication of technical articles\/memoir or research activity (each activity is worth 1 CFP).<\/li><\/ul><p>All activities should be properly documented.<\/p><h3>Certification Examination<\/h3><p>The certification examination consists of a written test and a practical test.
