The service
Measuring instrument calibrating service.
Calibrating operations are fundamental to the metrology approval process, which must be regularly carried out on measuring equipment (UNI EN 30012-1). This operation is required to meet standard "UNI EN ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Systems".

The accreditation
TEC Eurolab S.r.l. calibrating centre is SIT-accredited by the primary Institute of Metrology Gustavo Colonnetti (National Council on Research - CNR).
Accreditation ensures the traceability of national and international samples and recognises the lab ability to issue SIT-calibration certificates for instruments, ranges, uncertainties and measuring conditions detailed in the specific accreditation table.

Activities of the Centre
The calibrating centre carries out measurements in several physical magnitudes: length, pressure, hardness, torque, temperature, etc. Some of the activities are carried out under the SIT accreditation convention: for these activities TEC Eurolab S.r.l. issues a SIT certificate.
Other calibrations are carried out according to in-house procedures ensuring the traceability of the primary samples calibrated by EA (SIT, UKAS, DKD, etc) recognised bodies: following to these calibrations, TEC Eurolab S.r.l. issues a Calibration Report possibly attached to a calibrated instrument certificate of conformity to construction standards or criteria set forth by the customers.

Instrument fleet management
TEC Eurolab S.r.l. proposes for managing the whole customer instrument fleet.
For calibrating first samples – field in which we have no accreditation – we co-operate with other SIT centres. The management is carried out in a completely transparent way: the customer is notified by the SIT Centre carrying out the calibration and this is given all the information about the customer name and address. In this way, the issued certificates are directly addressed to the customer. As a matter of fact, as for calibrations carried out by other centres, TEC Eurolab S.r.l. acts as a broker, avoiding to its customers the job to manage technical/business relationships with several suppliers. From the technical point of view, the main liability for the certification is taken by the body issuing it: moreover, TEC Eurolab S.r.l. gives all the necessary information to the customer and directly contacts the SIT Centre for any technical issue.

Calibrations at the customers’

Top^

TEC Eurolab S.r.l. is able to offer an at-the-customers’ calibration for several instruments. This working mode has the advantage of eliminating the discomforts linked to the instrument shipment (instrument collection from the various departments, packing, shipment, etc.). On the contrary, it involves the disadvantages of on-site interventions, i.e. technician trip costs as well as a sure decay of measuring uncertainty, due to the environment conditions and to the instruments used on site.
The possible profitability of onsite interventions can be checked asking a relevant quotation. Moreover, mixed conditions are often applied: some instruments are calibrated onsite, i.e. at the customers’, and some other at the calibrating centre’s.

The instruments that can be calibrated onsite are the following:

- Altimeter
- Sliding gauge
- Outer micrometer
- Pressure gauge
- Transducer-dial gauge
- Scale
- 3D CMM
- Thermometer
- Thermostatic chamber
- Kiln
- Stove
- Surface plate
- Optical gauge

Operative conditions
» Instrument preparation
The instruments shall be perfectly cleaned, removed from possible optional, pipes, supports or machine tools.

» Calibration workplace
Arrangement of a workplace with chair and desk in a closed, well-lighted and suitably-large room with main supply. The environment temperature and humidity should be controlled, as far as possible.
